I’ve been keeping guinea pigs for 4 years. I started as a complete beginner who knew nothing, and now I have 2 adorable cavies to care for 🐹

📖 About Guinea Pig Haven

Guinea Pig Haven started as a personal blog to document my own guinea pig keeping journey. After 4 years of learning through trial and error, I decided to share everything I’ve learned to help other new guinea pig owners avoid the same mistakes I made.

Unlike hamsters, guinea pigs are highly social animals that need companionship – either from another guinea pig or from daily human interaction. They also have very different dietary needs, especially for Vitamin C, which they cannot produce on their own.
